Part 1: Presentation by Ecclesiastical Insurance – Jane Williamson and team
- Review of different types of policies and coverage provided
- Abuse: claim trends and risk management
- Safe Church: On-line training for employees and volunteers
Part 2: Trauma-informed approach to dealing with complaints.
- Précis of Mandy Marshall’s presentations; trauma–informed approach; not all trauma situations originate in the Church or lead to the Church complaints/discipline processes.
- What might be done in the complaint/discipline setting to reduce stress and trauma for all involved?
- Do any of the Chancellors have experience about how trauma affected a process – and how we stay in the role we need to be – while being compassionate to the impact of trauma?
Part 3: ADR and Restorative Justice in the disciplinary and non-disciplinary situations.
- Who needs to be in the room?
- Are there types of cases that would not be suitable for a restorative justice process?

Part 4: Status of Safe Church Procedures in the various dioceses. Setting expectations for Respectful Work Places (and Church as a whole) and dealing with a person’s trauma are broader than focussing on responses to complaints. What resources would be needed? Challenges for small dioceses. How could these be addressed?
